About the Ancillaries

There are two ancillaries available to support teachers in using The Core Mystery in their classes:

A ‘Core’ Reading Skills / Language Arts Unit Guide

Sandee Freese is a retired reading teacher who has taught many years in public education as well as in a classical Christian school. Over the years, she has learned many ways of motivating and helping students learn to read and to develop their language arts skills.

This workbook will help teachers/parents do the same for their students/children. It contains the main ingredients for student success while inducing the pleasure of learning.  It also provides an easy and time-saving preparation for the teacher/parent.

The target ability level for this skills guide is third through fifth grade. It is designed so that you, the teacher/parent, can decide what and how much you would like the child to learn.

This ancillary is meant to be used in conjunction with The Core Mystery: An Upper Elementary Chapter Book on the Mysteries of the Faith.  It contains student materials related to each chapter as well as accompanying teacher guides.

Parents and teachers wishing to teach reading and language arts skills may use the content in this ancillary to assist their students with learning these skills.  To facilitate this intended use, St. Polycarp Publishing House permits parents and teachers to make photocopies of the student sections for their personal and classroom use.

SpiritEd: Encounters With God (Bible Study/Devotional Building Guide)

Sandee Freese is a retired teacher who has taught many years in public education as well as in a classical Christian school.  She developed the curriculum in this study as a way to help her students encounter God in a deeper, more appreciative way while at the same time enjoying the journey.

This ancillary is meant to be used in conjunction with The Core Mystery: An Upper Elementary Chapter Book on the Mysteries of the Faith.  It gives the Biblical background for and assurance of the information in the book, while providing ‘spirited’ and fun activities.

Sunday Schools, Homeschoolers, Christian School classrooms, VBSs, and Parents who do family devotions with their children will benefit from this study.  Adults who are new to the Faith may also use this study to learn more about Christianity.  To facilitate this intended use, St. Polycarp Publishing House permits parents and teachers to make photocopies of the student sections for their personal and classroom use.
